2015 Comrades Marathon Sponsorship
At Immersive Group, we believe that we have a social responsibility for those less fortunate in our country. In 2015, Immersive sponsored Lindiwe Khumalo, a runner at the Comrades Marathon.
Lindiwe Khumalo, is a mother of 3 children and a very enthusiastic and persistent marathon runner who never gives up. Lindi, as she is affectionately known by her work peers, started her passion of running in marathons at a very young age whilst in primary school, and thus far nothing has deterred her from giving up on her dream of one day becoming the winner of one of the biggest marathons in the country and the world.
Some of the highlights from the one on one interview with Lindiwe:
“Whilst staying with my parents in Soweto, I used to watch my neighbour who used to jog every morning without fail, come rain or sun, my neighbour was always jogging. When I was 12 years old, I decided to join him every morning to jog. I loved it and felt like I would some day compete in athletics for long distance marathons”.
Whenever I have a big race coming up, I prepare by utilising the time of travelling to work in the morning, whereby I jog from my house in Soweto to Midrand my office. I race from Soweto to Midrand morning and evening.“
We are proud to associate ourselves towards such committed individuals and we wish Lindiwe Khumalo all the best in the future.
